Project Agile Practitioner (PAP)

Overview

Build the Agile mindset, practical skills, leadership capability, and exam strategy needed to succeed in adaptive project environments and prepare for the PMI-ACP® certification examination.

Today’s projects operate in environments characterised by rapid change, uncertainty, evolving customer expectations, technological disruption and increasing pressure to deliver value faster. Organisations therefore need professionals who can adapt quickly, collaborate effectively, empower teams and continuously deliver value.

Agile project management provides the mindset, principles, practices and tools required to manage work successfully in such environments. Rather than relying exclusively on detailed upfront planning, Agile approaches promote iterative delivery, customer collaboration, continuous feedback, adaptive planning and continuous improvement.

The Project Agile Practitioner (PAP) course offered by Kampala Project Planning and Management Centre (KPPMC) is a practical professional development and certification preparation programme designed to build participants’ capability to work effectively in Agile and hybrid project environments.

The programme is aligned with the knowledge and competency areas assessed in the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification examination and incorporates Agile approaches and practices including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, iterative and incremental delivery and hybrid ways of working.

The PAP programme is built around two complementary professional outcomes: developing practical Agile project management skills for the workplace and preparing eligible professionals to successfully pursue the PMI-ACP® certification examination.

Participants learn not simply how Agile terminology works, but how to think, lead, collaborate and deliver value as an Agile practitioner.

Main Purpose

The main purpose of the Project Agile Practitioner (PAP) course is to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills, Agile mindset and professional capabilities required to successfully contribute to and lead Agile projects, while developing the examination readiness required to pursue the PMI-ACP® certification.

The programme bridges the gap between learning Agile concepts, applying Agile practices in the workplace, and demonstrating professional competence through an internationally recognised PMI certification.

What You Will Learn

The course prepares participants to understand and apply the major principles and practices required for successful Agile project delivery.

  • Agile values, principles and mindset.
  • Scrum, Kanban and Lean approaches.
  • Agile and hybrid ways of working.
  • Servant leadership and Agile team empowerment.
  • Stakeholder and customer collaboration.
  • Product vision and value delivery.
  • Product and iteration backlog management.
  • User stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Agile estimation, planning and prioritisation.
  • Iterative and incremental delivery.
  • Agile risk management.
  • Flow and Work-in-Progress management.
  • Agile metrics and information radiators.
  • Retrospectives and continuous improvement.
  • Organisational agility and adaptive change.

Participants also learn how to interpret and respond to PMI-ACP® situational examination questions, apply PMI-aligned Agile reasoning and develop an effective certification examination strategy.

What Makes This Course Effective?

The PAP programme combines professional Agile skills development with structured PMI-ACP® examination preparation. Rather than teaching Agile as a collection of definitions and frameworks, the programme places participants in realistic project situations where they must determine how an Agile practitioner should think, lead, collaborate, prioritise and respond to change.

Participants work with practical tools including product backlogs, user stories, Kanban boards, prioritisation techniques, Agile estimates, information radiators and retrospectives.

The course recognises that Agile is not limited to software development. Participants learn how Agile principles and adaptive practices can be applied and tailored across different sectors, organisations and project environments. This makes the PAP programme valuable both to professionals seeking immediate workplace capability and those pursuing the PMI-ACP® certification.
